Welcome to my blog PositiveStew4U. My desire to to bring you tips and suggestions to keep you positive and in good spirits. Today I got up thinking about Joy. I am always looking for ways to be joyful. It feels good and it is good for me. And it's good for you too. Life's pressures may seem like they are conspiring to rob of your happiness but I have found 5 positive ways to beat the blues. Here's to you. You know you deserve it. Cultivate that Joy today.
1) Smile- not just a token smirk. Give yourself one of those big ear to ear grins, then breathe out then add a laugh on the end. Now didn't that feel good? Do it in the mirror. That's right- no one is watching- go ahead. smile, bigger,bigger breathe and a laugh . Oh yeah the joy is coming up.
2) Look at your favorite picture. Make copies of it, put it in your wallet, car, work area/ desk. Look at it whenever you need a joy burst, anywhere, anytime. I put my granddaughters' picture as the screen saver on my computer and it positively to brings me joy each time I glimpse it as I go about my day. What are you looking at?
3) Put together a playlist of your favorite feel good songs. Burn them to a CD or download it to your IPod, MP3 player or whatever. Now jam! Lately I've rediscovered my love of all things Stevie Wonder. His song 'DoI Do' makes me want to get up and shake my butt. Hold on- it is on now. Here I go!! JOy JoY, JOY!!!
4) Call your sweetie and leave a chocolate dipping kissie poo message. Don't have a sweetie? Leave one to yourself. Too conservative to leave a candy coated verbal tongue thrashing? Then just affirm on the message what a great, smart, pretty, handsome, fine, lovely, fantastically wonderful person you are. Then when you feel down call and listen to that message and smile and feel the joy. Someone loves ya' baby! Joy is best shared so call someone and tell them you love em', you miss em' or something heartfelt along that line. Give some joy and you will positively get it back.
5) Go for a walk in the park. Nature is a joy factory. Appreciate the birds songs (watch out for the seagulls). Smell the grass and take a moment to be thankful for what you have. Now for you adventurous spirits, kick off your shoes (watch where you step though) and feel the grass under your feet. Connect with the earth, you are only here for a short time. Give yourself permission to enjoy life. Now if you do this and the above mentioned items together your joy is sure to come pouring forth. Anything better than this?? You bet-sharing it with a friend.
